Coach Springer is beginning his second
year at MHS, first as Head Coach. Prior to MHS, he
coached at Caldwell, Parkersburg South, and Federal
Hocking where he was Ohio District Coach of the Year.
During his time at Parkersburg South, his teams won a
West Virginia State Championship and were also State
Runners-Up. Bob’s wife, Jan, is also an instrumental
part of the Tiger Football Program. They reside in
Marietta.
Adam Eichorn - Associate Head Coach/RB
Coach Eichhorn is beginning his 5th
year of coaching football. Prior to joining Marietta
High School in 2010, Eichhorn spent 2 seasons coaching
at Marietta College as a Graduate Assistant from
2007-2009. In 2009, Eichhorn was the Defensive
Coordinator at Cornell College (Iowa) where he was also
a 4-year starter, 3 time Captain, All-Conference and
All-American Linebacker from 2003-2006. This year
Eichhorn will be teaching at MHS. He resides in
Marietta with his wife Andrea.
Jeff Carmichael -
O-Coordinator/QB-Rec-DB
This season marks Carmichael’s 5th
year of coaching football. Prior to coming to Marietta,
Carmichael coached at Federal Hocking for 3 seasons.
Carmichael spent 1 season playing Semi-Professional
Football. Carmichael resides in Belpre with his wife
and 2 daughters.
BJ Mayer -
JV/Freshman/OL-DL
Coach Mayer is a 1992 Graduate of
Marietta High School, lettering in football and
baseball. He has coached all levels of football in
Marietta since 1993. Mayer has coached track since
1995, serving as the Boys Varsity Head Track Coach since
2001. Coach Mayer has been teaching Special Education
classes Marietta City Schools since 1995. He resides in
Marietta.
Lucas Stanton -
D-Coordinator
2011 marks Stanton’s inaugural season
with MHS. Stanton has spent the last 6 seasons coaching
football at the collegiate level at The University of
Dubuque (Iowa) and Cornell College (Iowa). Stanton has
coached on both sides of the football leading the RB’s,
WR’s, ILB’s, and OLB’s. Stanton was 3 year starter at
Running Back for Cornell College from 2003-2005. This
fall Stanton will be teaching Physical Education at the
high school. He resides in Marietta.
